     Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. was born on 26 June 1786.¹ He was the son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Maria Strode, daughter of Reverend James Strode, on 17 September 1810.¹ He married, secondly, Jane Anne Clarkson, daughter of Reverend Townley Clarkson, on 3 October 1854.¹ He died on 24 February 1869 at age 82.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Adair [U.K.] on 2 August 1838.¹

     Elizabeth Maria Strode was the daughter of Reverend James Strode.¹ She married Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt., son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto, on 17 September 1810.¹ She died on 1 September 1853.¹
     Her married name became Adair.

     Jane Anne Clarkson was the daughter of Reverend Townley Clarkson.¹ She married Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt., son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto, on 3 October 1854.¹ She died on 18 March 1873, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Adair.

     Reverend Townley Clarkson was the Vicar at Hinxton, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹

     Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt. was born on 26 December 1815.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Maria Strode.¹ He married Harriet Camilla Adair, daughter of Alexander Adair and Harriet Eliza Atkinson, on 10 July 1856.¹ He died on 2 March 1902 at age 86.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ipswich between 1847 and 1874.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Adair [U.K., 1838] on 5 February 1886.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Antrim.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.¹

     Harriet Camilla Adair was the daughter of Alexander Adair and Harriet Eliza Atkinson.^1,2 She married Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Robert Shafto Adair, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Maria Strode, on 10 July 1856.¹ She died on 30 May 1909.¹

     Alexander Adair was born on 15 September 1791.² He was the son of William Adair and Camilla Shafto.² He married Harriet Eliza Atkinson, daughter of George Atkinson, on 17 June 1828.² He died on 22 November 1863 at age 72.²
     He lived at Colhays, Devon, England.² He lived at Heatherton Park, Somerset, England^G.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Somerset in 1837.²

     Hugh Alexander Adair was born circa 1858. He was the son of Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt. and Harriet Camilla Adair.¹ He died on 21 May 1868.¹

     Sir Frederick Edward Shafto Adair, 4th Bt. was born on 26 December 1860.¹ He was the son of Sir Hugh Edward Adair, 3rd Bt. and Harriet Camilla Adair.¹ He died on 8 April 1915 at age 54, unmarried.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Adair [U.K., 1838] on 2 March 1902.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1910.¹
