Thomas Archer was born circa 1618.2 He was the son of Sir Simon Archer and Anna Ferrers.2 He married Anne Leigh, daughter of Richard Leigh, in 1652.2 He died in 1685.3
He lived at Umberslade, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse in the Parliamentary Army.4 He resigned his commission and emigrated until the Restoration.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Warwick circa 1660.4
