Sir John Haldane, 5th of Gleneagles was the son of Sir James Haldane, 4th of Gleneagles and Christian Graham.2 He married Marjorie Lawson, daughter of Sir John Lawson, circa 29 January 1508/9.1 He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, EnglandG, killed in action.2
On 1 July 1505 he was retoured heir to his father.1 In January 1508/9 obtained a charter erecting his lands in the Lennox and others in Perthshire, not already forming part of the barony of Gleneagles, into the barony of Haldane, the house of Rusky being appointed the principal messuage.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.2

Marjorie Lawson is the daughter of Sir John Lawson.1 She married, secondly, Luke Stirling, son of Sir William Stirling, 2nd of Keir.1 She married, thirdly, Robert Menteith, 8th of Kerse, son of Sir William Menteith, 5th of Kerse and Alva and Helen Bruce.2 She married, firstly, Sir John Haldane, 5th of Gleneagles, son of Sir James Haldane, 4th of Gleneagles and Christian Graham, circa 29 January 1508/9.1

Sir James Haldane, 6th of Gleneagles was the son of Sir John Haldane, 5th of Gleneagles and Marjorie Lawson.2 He married Margaret Erskine, daughter of Robert Erskine, 4th Lord Erskine and Isabel Campbell.1 He died circa 29 March 1547.1
On 29 November 1513 he was a minor at the time of his father's death, but was by virtue of the Act of Dispensation granted to the heirs of those slain at Flodden, deemed of lawful age, and retoured heir.1

John Haldane, 7th of Gleneagles was born in 1524.1 He was the son of Sir James Haldane, 6th of Gleneagles and Margaret Erskine.2 He married Elizabeth Lundie, daughter of Walter Lundie of that Ilk and Elizabeth Lindsay.1 He died in December 1563.1
