     Iona Ellen McClean was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Kennedy McClean and Aileen Wale.^2,3 She married Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron Carrington of Upton, son of Rupert Victor John Carington, 5th Baron Carrington of Upton and Hon. Sybil Marion Colville, on 25 April 1942.¹ She died on 7 June 2009.³
     After her marriage, Iona Ellen McClean was styled as Baroness Carrington of Upton on 25 April 1942. From 25 April 1942, her married name became Carrington.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir Francis Kennedy McClean was born on 1 February 1876.³ He married Aileen Wale, daughter of William Henry Wale, in 1918.³ He died on 11 August 1955 at age 79.³
