     Charlotte van Lore van den Bempdé was the daughter of Johan van den Bempden and Temperance Packer.^1,2 She married, firstly, Sir William Johnstone, 1st Marquess of Annandale, son of James Johnstone, 1st Earl of Annandale and Hartfell and Lady Henrietta Douglas, on 20 November 1718 at Fleet Chapel, London, England^G, without the consent of the father, and perhaps the mother, of the bride.³ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. John Johnstone, son of Sir William Johnstone of Westerhall, 2nd Bt. and Henrietta Johnstone, on 1 December 1731 at St. Benet's, Paul's Wharf, London, England^G.^2,4 She died on 23 November 1762 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.² Her will was proven (by probate) in December 1762.² She was buried on 29 November 1762 at Bristol Cathedral, Bristol, England^G.⁴
     After her marriage, Charlotte van Lore van den Bempdé was styled as Marchioness of Annandale on 20 November 1718. From 20 November 1718, her married name became Johnstone. She was also known as Charlotte Vanlo as of 1 December 1731.⁴

     Johan van den Bempden was born in 1659.¹ He was the son of Johan van den Bempden and Catharina Pannemaker.¹ He married Temperance Packer, daughter of John Packer, on 28 August 1699 at Duke Place, St. James's, London, England^G.² He died on 14 March 1726 at Hackness Hall, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Sophia Fairholm was born on 18 March 1668.¹ She was the daughter of John Fairholm and Sophia Johnston.¹ She married Sir William Johnstone, 1st Marquess of Annandale, son of James Johnstone, 1st Earl of Annandale and Hartfell and Lady Henrietta Douglas, on 2 January 1682 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ She died on 13 December 1716 at age 48.¹ She was buried on 18 December 1716 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, England^G.¹
     From 2 January 1681/82, her married name became Johnstone. After her marriage, Sophia Fairholm was styled as Countess of Annandale and Hartfell on 2 January 1681/82. After her marriage, Sophia Fairholm was styled as Marchioness of Annandale on 24 June 1701.

     Anne Cheeke was the daughter of Thomas Cheeke and Hon. Laetitia Russell.^2,1 She married Sir Thomas Tipping, 1st Bt., son of Sir Thomas Tipping and Elizabeth Beconshaw.¹
     Her married name became Tipping.¹ She was also known as Anne Cheek.²

     Temperance Packer is the daughter of John Packer.¹ She married Johan van den Bempden, son of Johan van den Bempden and Catharina Pannemaker, on 28 August 1699 at Duke Place, St. James's, London, England^G.¹

     John Ashburnham was the son of Thomas Ashburnham and Sarah Waunsey.¹ He married Elizabeth Peckham.¹ He died in 1491.¹ He was buried at Chapel of St. James, Ashburnham, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Richard Ashburnham is the son of Thomas Ashburnham and Sarah Waunsey.¹ He married unknown Stoneling, daughter of Sir John Stoneling.²

     Catherine Tipping was the daughter of Sir Thomas Tipping, 1st Bt. and Anne Cheeke.¹ She married Thomas Archer, 1st Lord Archer, Baron of Umberslade, son of Andrew Archer and Elizabeth Dashwood, on 11 August 1726.¹ She died on 20 July 1754 at Pirgo, Essex, England^G.¹ She was buried at Tanworth Church, Warwickshire, England^G.¹
     Her married name became Archer. After her marriage, Catherine Tipping was styled as Baroness Archer on 17 July 1747.
