William Boyd married Mary Alexander, daughter of Reverend Robert Alexander and Dorothea McClintock, on 17 September 1845, they were parents.2 He died on 19 January 1877.2
He was given the name of William Keown at birth.2,1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Down.2 In 1873 his name was legally changed to William Boyd under the will of his grand-uncle, Major David Hamilton Boyd, of Glastry.1
