Sir John Colquhoun of Luss, 1st Bt.1

Sir John Colquhoun of Luss, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Colquhoun of Luss and Helen Buchanan.2 He married Lady Lilias Graham, daughter of John Graham, 4th Earl of Montrose and Lady Margaret Ruthven, on 6 July 1620.1 He died circa 1650.1
He was created 1st Baronet Colquhoun, of Luss [Nova Scotia] on 30 August 1625, with a special remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1 In 1632 a warrant was issued for his arrest on charge of abducting his sister-in-law, Katherine, the life-rents of his estates being made over to Sir Robert Douglas of Spott, 1st and last Viscount Belhaven, but Sir John's brother Humphrey recovered the estates.1

Humphrey Colquhoun was the son of Sir Alexander Colquhoun of Luss and Helen Buchanan.2 He married Margaret Somerville, daughter of Gilbert Somerville, 7th Lord Somerville and Margaret Somerville.1 He died, without issue.1
By his interposition in his brother's time the estates were saved.1 He lived at Balvie, ScotlandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dunbartonshire between 1643 and 1649.1

Gilbert Somerville, 7th Lord Somerville was the son of Hugh Somerville, 6th Lord Somerville and Eleanor Seton.2 He married Margaret Somerville, daughter of Sir James Somerville, 4th of Cambusnethan and Margaret Hamilton, in April 1592.2,3 He died in 1618.2
