Anne Dearden was the daughter of John Dearden.1 She married Samuel Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Baron Masham of Swinton, son of Ellis Cunliffe-Lister-Kay and Mary Kay, on 6 September 1854.1 She died in 1875.2

William Francis Forbes-Sempill, 19th Lord Sempill was born on 24 September 1893.2 He was the son of John Forbes-Sempill, 18th Lord Sempill and Gwendolen Emily Mary Prodgers.3 He married, firstly, Eileen Marion Lavery, daughter of Sir John Lavery and Annie Evans, on 20 February 1919.3 He married, secondly, Cecilia Alice Dunbar-Kilburn, daughter of Bertram Edward Dunbar-Kilburn, on 1 February 1941.3 He died on 30 December 1965 at age 72.3

Firstly it would have revealed British successes in decoding Japanese communications and secondly he was part of the British Establishment with family links to the Royal Family. He was eventually forced to retire from the Royal Navy in 1941 after being discovered passing on secret material to Tokyo shortly before Japan declared war in the Pacific."4 He was President of the Institute of the Motor Industry between 1946 and 1948.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Aeronautical Society (F.R.Ae.S.)2
