Charles Maitland Christie of Durie was born on 31 December 1785 at Scoonie, Fife, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of James Christie of Durie and Mary Turner Barclay-Maitland.2 He married, firstly, Mary Butler Lindsay, daughter of Hon. Robert Lindsay and Elizabeth Dick, on 18 November 1815 at Scoonie, Fife, ScotlandG.1,2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Pringle on 19 April 1830 at Selkirk, Selkirkshire, ScotlandG.2 He died in 1872.1
