     Charles Ernest Alfred French Somerset Butler, 7th Earl of Carrick was born on 15 November 1873.1 He was the son of Charles Henry Somerset Butler, 6th Earl of Carrick and Kathleen Emily Hamilton Ross.2 He married Ellen Rosemond Mary Lindsay, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Gore Lindsay and Hon. Ellen Sarah Morgan, on 16 November 1898.1 He died on 2 November 1931 at age 57 at Florida, U.S.A.G.1
     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned with the rank of Lieutenant, in the service of the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.1 He was styled as Viscount Ikerrin between 1901 and 1909.1 He succeeded as the 14th Viscount Ikerrin, co. Tipperary [I., 1629] on 6 April 1909.2 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Carrick, co. Tipperary [I., 1748] on 6 April 1909.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kilkenny.3 He was created 1st Baron Butler, of Mount Juliet, co. Kilkenny [U.K.] on 8 July 1912.1 He was Comptroller of the Household of the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1913 and 1915.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Service Corps.3 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Staff Captain in 1916.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.1 He was an inspector in the Irish Department of Agriculture.1

     Colonel Walter Charles Lindsay was born on 11 March 1866.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Gore Lindsay and Hon. Ellen Sarah Morgan.2 He married Lady Kathleen Butler, daughter of Charles Henry Somerset Butler, 6th Earl of Carrick and Kathleen Emily Hamilton Ross, on 24 March 1897.1 He died on 4 June 1929 at age 63.2
     He was Gentleman-in-Waiting to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1898 and 1904.2 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1904.2 He was Vice-Chamberlain to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland between 1904 and 1906.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kilkenny in 1911.2 He held the office of Member of the Kilkenny County Council between 1911 and 1920.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet Colonel in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers.2

     Lady Kathleen Butler was born on 20 December 1876.2 She was the daughter of Charles Henry Somerset Butler, 6th Earl of Carrick and Kathleen Emily Hamilton Ross.1,2 She married Colonel Walter Charles Lindsay, son of Lt.-Col. Henry Gore Lindsay and Hon. Ellen Sarah Morgan, on 24 March 1897.2 She died on 29 April 1953 at age 76.1
     Her married name became Lindsay. She was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.2

     Charles Henry Somerset Butler, 6th Earl of Carrick was born on 5 August 1851.1 He was the son of Charles George Butler and Jane Elizabeth Prosser.2 He married, firstly, Kathleen Emily Hamilton Ross, daughter of Lt.-Col. Albert Ernest Ross, on 8 January 1873 at St. George's Chapel, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1,3 He married, secondly, Emily Jones, daughter of Mark Codrington Jones, in 1896.1 He died on 6 April 1909 at age 57 at Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.4
     He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He gained the rank of Major in the Welch Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Carrick, co.      William George Robert Craven, 4th Earl of Craven was born on 16 December 1868.1 He was the son of George Grimston Craven, 3rd Earl of Craven and Hon. Evelyn Laura Barrington.1 He married Cornelia Martin, daughter of Bradley Martin and Cornelia Sherman, on 18 April 1893 at Grace Church, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G.1 He died on 9 July 1921 at age 52 at Cowes, Isle of Wight, EnglandG, accidentally drowned.2 He was buried on 14 July 1921 at Hampsted Marshall, Berkshire, EnglandG.2

     Cornelia Martin was born on 22 September 1876.3 She was the daughter of Bradley Martin and Cornelia Sherman.1,4 She married William George Robert Craven, 4th Earl of Craven, son of George Grimston Craven, 3rd Earl of Craven and Hon. Evelyn Laura Barrington, on 18 April 1893 at Grace Church, New York City, New York, U.S.A.G.1 She died on 19 May 1961 at age 84.5
     From 18 April 1893, her married name became Craven. After her marriage, Cornelia Martin was styled as Countess of Craven on 18 April 1893.
