Archibald Campbell of Succoth1

     Archibald Campbell of Succoth was born circa 1703.1 He was the son of William Campbell of Succoth and Margaret Walkinshaw.2 He married Helen Wallace, daughter of John Wallace of Elderslie, in 1731.1 He died in 1790.1
     He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.) in 1728.1 In 1769 he sold the Elderslie estate to Alexander Speirs.1 He was Principal Clerk of Session in 1770.1 He was Deputy Keeper of the Great Seal.1 He was Commissary Principal of Glasgow.1

     He purchased the Nisbet estate, near Edinburgh, later called Murrayfield.3 He was a Commissioner of Edinburgh.3 He held the office of Sheriff Depute of Peebles-shire.3

     From 13 November 1765, her married name became Campbell.1
