     Sir Charles Goring, 9th Bt. was born on 2 June 1828 at Portugal Street, Hanover Square, Mayfair, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Harry Dent Goring, 8th Bt. and Augusta Harvey.¹ He was baptised on 2 August 1828 at Yapton, Sussex, England^G.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Anne Panton, daughter of Jones Panton, on 11 February 1850 at Trinity Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Eliza Molyneux, daughter of Reverend Capel Molyneux and Maria Carpenter, on 21 April 1857 at St. James' Church, Paddington, London, England^G.¹ He died on 3 November 1884 at age 56 at Highden, Washington, Sussex, England^G, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 12th Lancers.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Bowyer, of Highden, Sussex [E., 1678] on 19 April 1859.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1860 in the 8th Sussex Rifle Volunteers.¹
