Roger de Clifford, 5th Lord Clifford was born on 10 July 1333.1 He was the son of Robert de Clifford, 3rd Lord Clifford and Isabel de Berkeley.2 He was baptised on 20 July 1333 at Brougham, Westmorland, EnglandG.3 He married Maud de Beauchamp, daughter of Thomas de Beauchamp, 11th Earl of Warwick and Katherine Mortimer, before 1363.2,4 He died on 13 July 1389 at age 56.2

Sir James Bowyer, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1645.2 He was baptised at North Mundham, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Bowyer, 1st Bt. and Anne Ryder.1 He died circa February 1679/80 at London, EnglandG, without issue.3 He was buried on 28 February 1679/80.3 He died intestate and his estate was administered to Henry Bellingham, cousin and next of kin on 27 April 1682.3
He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.4 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Bowyer, of Leythorne, co. Sussex [E., 1627] in 1659.1 He matriculated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 14 February 1661/62.1 He was a Fellow between 1663 and 1665 at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1665.3 He was created 1st Baronet Bowyer, of Highden, co. Sussex [England] on 18 May 1678, with a special remainder to Henry Goring, and with the precedence of the old baronetcy in 1627.3
On his death, his first baronetcy became extinct.3
