Sir Thomas Bowyer, 1st Bt. was born on 28 November 1586.1 He was the son of Thomas Bowyer and Jane Birch.1 He was baptised on 4 December 1586 at Mundham, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He married, firstly, Anne Stoughton, daughter of Adrian Stoughton, before 1610.1 He married, secondly, Jane Cranley, daughter of Emery Cranley, before 1634.1 He married, thirdly, Anne Ryder, daughter of William Ryder and Elizabeth de Boussoyne, before 1642.1 He died circa 25 February 1650.1 He was buried on 28 February 1650 at Mundham, Sussex, EnglandG.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 9 April 1652.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Midhurst in 1614.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bramber between 1621 and 1642.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Surrey from 1626 to 1627.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Sussex from 1626 to 1627.1 He was created 1st Baronet Bowyer, of Leythorne, co. Sussex [England] on 23 July 1627.1 His last will was dated 20 January 1648/49. On 18 May 1650 he was fined £2,033 as a delinquent.1
He had twelve other surviving children.1
