Maurice fitz John fitz Nicholas, 5th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw was the son of John fitz Nicholas, 4th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw and Honor O'Brien.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth de Caunton, daughter of Sir David de Caunton, circa 1355.1 He and Joan fitz Maurice obtained a marriage license on 27 February 1398/99 by Papal dispensation.1 He died circa 1398.1 He was buried at Ardfert, County Kerry, IrelandG.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw [I., c. 1295] circa 1378.1

Elizabeth de Caunton was born circa 1338 at IrelandG.1 She was the daughter of Sir David de Caunton.1 She married Maurice fitz John fitz Nicholas, 5th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw, son of John fitz Nicholas, 4th Baron of Kerry and Lixnaw and Honor O'Brien, circa 1355.1 She died on 27 July 1364.1

Sir David de Caunton was the son of Maurice de Caunton and Alice de Oddingsells.1 He married Joan (?)1 He died on 2 October 1340, killed by his nephew, David de Caunton.1
