     Alfonso XI, Rey de Castilla y León was born in 1311.1 He was the son of Fernando IV, Rey de Castilla y León and Constanza de Portugal.1 He married Maria de Portugal, daughter of Afonso IV de Bourgogne, Rei de Portugal and Beatriz de Castilla, in 1328.1 He died in 1350.1
     He succeeded as the Rey Alfonso XI de Castilla in 1312.1 He succeeded as the Rey Alfonso XI de León in 1312.3

     Pedro I, Rey de Castilla y León was born on 30 August 1334. He was the son of Alfonso XI, Rey de Castilla y León and Maria de Portugal.1 He married, firstly, Maria de Padilla, daughter of Juan Garcias de Padilla, Lord de Villager, in 1352.1 He married, secondly, Blanche de Bourbon, daughter of Pierre I de Bourbon, Duc de Bourbon and Isabel de Valois, in 1353.1 He died in 1369, stabbed to death by his half-brother, Henry the Bastard.1
     Pedro I, Rey de Castilla y León also went by the nick-name of Pedro 'the Cruel'.3 He succeeded as the Rey Pedro I de León in 1350.4 He succeeded as the Rey Pedro I de Castilla in 1350.1

He died on 19 September 1356 at Poitiers, FranceG, killed in action.
     He gained the title of Duc de Bourbon in 1342.1
