Julian Kerr was the daughter of Sir Thomas Kerr of Ferniehirst and Janet Kirkcaldy.1,2 She married, firstly, Sir Patrick Hume of Polwarth, son of Patrick Hume of Polwarth and Agnes Home, before 18 December 1598.1,3 She married, secondly, Thomas Hamilton, 1st Earl of Haddington, son of Sir Thomas Hamilton, Lord Priestfield and Elizabeth Heriot, circa 16 September 1613.4 She died circa 27 March 1637.2 She was buried on 30 March 1637.2
From before 18 December 1598, her married name became Hume.2 From circa 16 September 1613, her married name became Hamilton.4 After her marriage, Julian Kerr was styled as Countess of Melrose on 20 March 1619. After her marriage, Julian Kerr was styled as Countess of Haddington on 17 August 1627.
