     William Cole was a publican and butcher at Wotton, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     Hon. George Charles Grantley FitzHardinge Berkeley was born on 10 February 1800.^1,2 He was the son of Frederick Augustus Berkeley, 5th Earl of Berkeley and Mary Cole.¹ He married Caroline Martha Benfield, daughter of Paul Benfield, on 16 August 1824.³ He died on 20 February 1881 at age 81, without surviving issue.¹
     Hon. George Charles Grantley FitzHardinge Berkeley usually went by his middle name of Grantley.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for West Gloucestershire between 1832 and 1852.¹ He wrote the book Berkeley Castle, published 1836, an historical romance in three volumes.² He wrote the book Sandron Hall, or the Days of Queen Anne, published 1840.² He wrote the book The English Sportsman in the Western Prairies, published 1861.² He wrote the book My Life and Recollections, published between 1865 and 1866, in four volumes.² He wrote the book Anecdotes of the Upper Ten Thousand, their Legends and their Lives, published 1867.² He wrote the book Tales of Life and Death, published 1870.² He wrote the book Fact against Fiction, published 1874, in two volumes.² He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²
     

     Arthur Herbert Jackson married Kate Brand, daughter of William Brand, in 1876.¹ He died before 1887.¹

     Helen Ruth Walsh is the daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Brian Walsh.¹ She married Hon. Thomas FitzHardinge Gueterbock, son of Anthony FitzHardinge Gueterbock, 18th Lord Berkeley and Diana Christine Townsend, in 1995.¹
     From 1995, her married name became Gueterbock.¹

     Lt.-Cdr. Brian Walsh gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     Hon. Philippa Louise Gueterbock was born in 1975.¹ She is the daughter of Anthony FitzHardinge Gueterbock, 18th Lord Berkeley and Diana Christine Townsend.¹
     She was educated at Godolphin School, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹

     Julia Clarke is the daughter of Michael Clarke.¹ She married Anthony FitzHardinge Gueterbock, 18th Lord Berkeley, son of Brigadier Ernest Adolphus Leopold Gueterbock and Hon. Cynthia Ella Foley, on 8 May 1999.¹
     After her marriage, Julia Clarke was styled as Baroness Berkeley on 8 May 1999. From 8 May 1999, her married name became Gueterbock.¹ After her marriage, Julia Clarke was styled as Baroness Gueterbock on 18 April 2000.

     Thomas fitz Maurice was born circa April 1261.² He was the son of Maurice fitz John and Mathilda de Barry.¹ He married Margaret de Berkeley, daughter of Thomas de Berkeley, 1st Lord Berkeley and Joan de Ferrers, before 7 February 1283/84.³ He died on 4 June 1298.⁴ He was also reported to have died in 1296.¹ He was also reported to have died in 1297.⁵
     He gained the title of Lord of Offaly.⁶ Thomas fitz Maurice also went by the nick-name of 'A nAppagh' (or in English, 'the monkey-nurtured'), from a legend that he was cared for by an ape during a time of trouble.⁶ He was feudal Lord of Decies and Desmond.⁴ He held the office of Justiciar of Ireland in 1295.⁴
