Janet Pitcairn was born on 7 June 1699 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 She was the daughter of Dr. Archibald Pitcairn and Elizabeth Stevenson.1,2 She married Alexander Erskine, 5th Earl of Kellie, son of Alexander Erskine, 4th Earl of Kellie and Lady Anne Lindsay, in October 1731.1,3 She died on 7 June 1775 at age 76.2
From October 1731, her married name became Erskine.1 After her marriage, Janet Pitcairn was styled as Countess of Kellie in October 1731.

Dr. Archibald Pitcairn was born on 25 December 1652 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 He was the son of Alexander Pitcairn and Janet Sydserff.2 He married Elizabeth Stevenson, daughter of Archibald Stevenson, in 1693.2 He died on 10 October 1713 at age 60.2

Sarah Patton was born on 17 September 1781 at Calcutta, India.2 She was the daughter of Robert Patton and Constantia Adelina Sally Mapletoft.1,2 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Torrens on 9 March 1803 at Jamestown, St. Helena.2 She died on 31 December 1863 at age 82 at Balcaskie House, Fife, Scotland.2
