     Elizabeth Ferrers was the daughter of Henry de Ferrers, 2nd Baron Ferrers (of Groby) and Isabel Verdun.1 She married, firstly, David of Strathbogie, 12th Earl of Atholl, son of David of Strathbogie, 11th Earl of Atholl and Catherine de Beaumont, between 24 September 1342 and 1361.1 She married, secondly, John Malewayn after 1369.2 She died on 22 October 1375 at Ashford, Kent, EnglandG.2 She was buried at Ashford, Kent, EnglandG.2
     After her marriage, Elizabeth Ferrers was styled as Countess of Atholl between 24 September 1342 and 1361. On 12 February 1369/70 she had a writ of livery.1 On 14 February 1369/70 she had an order for assignment of dower.1

     Henry de Ferrers, 2nd Baron Ferrers (of Groby) was born before 1303.2 He was the son of William de Ferrers, 1st Baron Ferrers (of Groby) and Ellen de Segrave.2,3 He married Isabel Verdun, daughter of Sir Theobald de Verdun, 2nd Lord Verdun and Elizabeth de Clare, before 20 February 1330/31.4 He died on 15 September 1343 at Groby, Leicestershire, EnglandG.5
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Ferrers, of Groby [E., 1299] on 20 March 1325.1

Isabel Verdun1

     Isabel Verdun was born on 21 March 1316/17 at Amesbury, Wiltshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Theobald de Verdun, 2nd Lord Verdun and Elizabeth de Clare.1,3 She married Henry de Ferrers, 2nd Baron Ferrers (of Groby), son of William de Ferrers, 1st Baron Ferrers (of Groby) and Ellen de Segrave, before 20 February 1330/31.2 She died on 25 July 1349 at age 32.2

Bartholomew Burghersh, 2nd Lord Burghersh1

     Bartholomew Burghersh, 2nd Lord Burghersh was born before 1329.1 He was the son of Bartholomew Burghersh, 1st Lord Burghersh and Elizabeth de Verdun.1 He married, firstly, Cicely Weyland, daughter of Richard of Weyland, before 10 May 1335. He married, secondly, Margaret (?) before August 1366.2 He died on 5 April 1369.1
     He fought in the Battle of Crécy on 25 August 1346.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1348.1 He accompanied the Black Prince on nearly all of his expeditions.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Burghersh [E., 1330] on 3 August 1355, by writ.1 He fought in the Battle of Poitiers on 19 September 1356.1 He made a journey to the Holy Land.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Elizabeth of Atholl was born in 1361.2 She was the daughter of David of Strathbogie, 12th Earl of Atholl and Elizabeth Ferrers.1 She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Percy, son of Henry de Percy, 1st Earl of Northumberland and Margaret de Neville, circa 1376/77.3 She married, secondly, Sir John le Scrope, son of Henry le Scrope, 1st Lord Scrope (of Masham), before 16 September 1388.3,4 She married, thirdly, Robert de Thorley after 1391.3 She died after 1416.3
     From circa 1377, her married name became Percy.
