     Maj.-Gen. Frederick Colthurst Maitland was born on 1 January 1808.1 He was the son of Patrick Maitland and Anne Bateman.1 He married Ann Deering Williams, daughter of Stephen Williams, on 29 August 1837.1 He died on 3 August 1876 at age 68.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Indian Army.1

     Ann Deering Williams was the daughter of Stephen Williams.1 She married Maj.-Gen. Frederick Colthurst Maitland, son of Patrick Maitland and Anne Bateman, on 29 August 1837.1 She died on 24 March 1887.1
     Her married name became Maitland.

     Charlotte Sarah Sleigh was the daughter of Lt.-Col. B. W. A. Sleigh.1 She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Maitland, 13th Earl of Lauderdale, son of Maj.-Gen. Frederick Colthurst Maitland and Ann Deering Williams, on 28 November 1864.1 She died in September 1879.1
     Her married name became Maitland.

     Lt.-Col. Frederick Colin Maitland, 14th Earl of Lauderdale was born on 12 April 1868.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Maitland, 13th Earl of Lauderdale and Charlotte Sarah Sleigh.1 He married Gwendoline Lucy Vaughan-Williams, daughter of Robert Vaughan-Williams and Sarah Jane Reid, on 16 April 1890 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 14 September 1931 at age 63.1

     Gwendoline Lucy Vaughan-Williams was the daughter of Robert Vaughan-Williams and Sarah Jane Reid.1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Frederick Colin Maitland, 14th Earl of Lauderdale, son of Lt.-Col. Frederick Henry Maitland, 13th Earl of Lauderdale and Charlotte Sarah Sleigh, on 16 April 1890 at St. Georges Hanover Square, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 30 January 1929.1
     Her married name became Maitland. After her marriage, Gwendoline Lucy Vaughan-Williams was styled as Countess of Lauderdale on 1 September 1924.

Frederick Henry Maitland, 13th Earl of Lauderdale and Charlotte Sarah Sleigh.1 He married Ella Frances Richards, daughter of Reverend James Richards, on 11 April 1899.1 He died on 21 August 1946 at age 76.1
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Berwickshire.1 He was the Rector between 1927 and 1937 at Ingestre, Staffordshire, EnglandG.1
