He married Alexandra Prinzessin zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, daughter of Karl Erwin Leopold Gottfired Franziskus Maria Prinz zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Victoria Gräfin Czernin von und zu Chudenitz, on 18 July 1959 at Hoßkirche, Germany.¹ He died on 29 June 1966 at age 39 at Pfaffenhofen, Germany^G, in a car crash.¹

     Elizabeth Clinton was born illegitimately.¹ She is the daughter of William de Clinton, 1st and last Earl of Huntingdon.¹ She married Sir John Fitzwilliam, son of Sir William Fitzwilliam and Maud Deincourt.¹
