     William fitz Thomas is the son of Thomas Fitzwilliam and Agnes Bertram.¹
     He pleaded before the commissioners of King Edward I that he claimed in his lands of Spotsborugh, Yorkshire the rights of assize which his ancestors had there since the conquest.¹

     Thomas Fitzwilliam is the son of William Fitzwilliam.¹ He married Agnes Bertram, daughter of Roger Bertram.¹
     In 1253 he had freewarren in his lands in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.¹ He fought in the Battle of Chesterfield in 1266, where he was made prisoner by King Henry III.¹

     He was possessed of 8 knights fees in Yorkshire, as heir of his mother.¹

     William de Clairfait is the son of Godric (?)¹ He married Aubreye de Lizour, daughter of Robert de Lizour.¹
     He founded the Monastry of Hampole.¹ In 1178 he rendered account of 10 marks for his marriage with teh mother of John the Constable.¹

     Aubreye de Lizour was born circa 1130.¹ She was the daughter of Robert de Lizour.¹ She married, secondly, William de Clairfait, son of Godric (?).¹ She married, firstly, Richard FitzEustace, Baron of Halton.¹
     Her lands were divided between the issue of her two marriages, with the Lacy lands going to John the Constable and the lands of Lizour to her son William.¹

     Richard FitzEustace, Baron of Halton married Aubreye de Lizour, daughter of Robert de Lizour.¹
     He was created Baron of Halton, co. Palatine of Chester.¹

     John FitzEustace is the son of Richard FitzEustace, Baron of Halton and Aubreye de Lizour.¹
     He held the office of Constable of Chester.¹

     Agnes Bertram is the daughter of Roger Bertram.¹ She married Thomas Fitzwilliam, son of William Fitzwilliam.¹
     Her married name became Fitzwilliam.¹
