Sir John Tyrwhitt, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Philip Tyrwhitt, 4th Bt. and Penelope de la Fontaine.1 He married Elizabeth Phillips, daughter of Francis Phillips, on 24 February 1691.1 He married Mary Drake, daughter of Sir William Drake, in 1704.1 He died in November 1741.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Tyrwhitt, of Stainfield, co. Lincoln [E., 1611] in July 1688. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lincoln between 1715 and 1734.1
