George Lauder of Haltoun was born circa 1373.1 He was the son of Alan de Lauder, 1st of Haltoun and Elizabeth (?)1 He married Lady Helen Douglas, daughter of Archibald Douglas, 3rd Earl of Douglas and Lady Joan Moray, before 1390.1 He died circa 1430.1
He held the office of Provost of Edinburgh.2 He was an Ambassador to treat for the deliverance of King James I and for a truce in December 1412.1
