     Robert Maxwell was the son of Sir George Maxwell of Orchardtoun, 5th Bt. and Margaret Maxwell.¹ He died circa 1740 at Douai College, Douai, France.¹

     Sir Robert Maxwell, 7th Bt. was the son of Mungo Maxwell and Mary Cairns.¹ He married Margaret Maclellan, daughter of Robert Maclellan of Barscobe.¹ He died on 21 September 1786.¹
     He was educated at Douai College, Douai, France.¹ He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1745, where he was taken prisoner.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Maxwell, of Orchardtoun [N.S., 1663] on 3 February 1761.¹ On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Margaret Maclellan was the daughter of Robert Maclellan of Barscobe.² She married Sir Robert Maxwell, 7th Bt., son of Mungo Maxwell and Mary Cairns.¹ She died in March 1772.¹
     Her married name became Maxwell.¹

     Her married name became Maxwell.¹
