     William Babington was born on 25 November 1789 at Paris, France.¹ He was the son of William Babington and Martha Elizabeth Hough.¹ He married Adeline Hobson, daughter of William Hobson, on 5 October 1825.² He died in 1828.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Madras Light Cavalry.²

     Adeline Hobson was born in 1804.¹ She was the daughter of William Hobson.² She married William Babington, son of William Babington and Martha Elizabeth Hough, on 5 October 1825.²
     From 5 October 1825, her married name became Babington.¹

     William Babington was born on 21 May 1756 at Portglenone, County Antrim, Ireland.¹ He was the son of Reverend Humphrey Babington and Anne Buttle.¹ He married Martha Elizabeth Hough, daughter of Stephen Hough, on 21 July 1787.² He died on 29 April 1833 at age 76.¹
     He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)¹

     Martha Elizabeth Hough was born in 1766.¹ She was the daughter of Stephen Hough.² She married William Babington, son of Reverend Humphrey Babington and Anne Buttle, on 21 July 1787.² She died on 4 July 1849.¹
     From 21 July 1787, her married name became Babington.¹
