General Sir Francis Wheler, 10th Bt. was born on 9 November 1801.1 He is the son of Sir Trevor Wheler, 8th Bt. and Harriet Beresford.2 He married, firstly, Caroline Palmer, daughter of Reverend C. Palmer, in February 1827.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Bishop, daughter of William Bishop, on 18 November 1841.1 He died on 4 April 1878 at age 76.1
He gained the rank of General in the Bengal Cavalry.1 He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Wheler, of City of Westminster, co. London [E., 1660] on 6 September 1869.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1
