Elizabeth Plunkett is the daughter of Sir Thomas Plunket.2 She married Christopher Barnewall, 2nd Baron Trimlestown, son of Robert Barnewall, 1st Baron Trimlestown and Anne Browne.1

John Barnewall, 3rd Baron Trimlestown was the son of Christopher Barnewall, 2nd Baron Trimlestown and Elizabeth Plunkett.2 He married, firstly, Genet Bellew, daughter of John Bellew.1 He married, secondly, Margaret FitzLeons, daughter of Patrick FitzLeons.1 He died on 25 July 1538.1
He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Trimlestown, of Trimlestown, co. Meath [I., 1461] in June 1513.1 He was appointed Knight before January 1513/14.1 He held the office of Second Judge of the King's Bench [Ireland] in January 1513/14.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] on 21 December 1521.1 He held the office of Vice-Treasurer [Ireland] in 1522.1 He held the office of High Treasurer [Ireland] between 1524 and 1530.1 In 1532 he was granted 136 acres in Dunleer to hold as the Manor of Trim.1 He held the office of Lord Chancellor [Ireland] in 1534.1
