     Thomas Hamilton was born in 1843.¹ He was the son of Sir William Stirling Hamilton of Preston, 9th Bt. and Janet Marshall.² He married Helen Nutt, daughter of H. W. Nutt, on 6 November 1873.¹ He died on 20 December 1918.¹
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)³ He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (F.R.C.S.E.)¹

     Helen Nutt was the daughter of H. W. Nutt.² She married Thomas Hamilton, son of Sir William Stirling Hamilton of Preston, 9th Bt. and Janet Marshall, on 6 November 1873.¹ She died on 4 June 1932.¹

William Gavin Hamilton was born on 4 October 1874.¹ He was the son of Thomas Hamilton and Helen Nutt.² He married, firstly, Louise Cunningham, daughter of Alison Cunningham, on 23 February 1908.¹ He married, secondly, Helen Mcphee, daughter of Dugald Stewart Mcphee, on 29 December 1916.¹ He died on 10 December 1937 at age 63 at Castle Cary, Somerset, England, following a train crash.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Medical Service.¹ He was Superintendent Presidency of Jail, Calcutta.¹

     Alison Cunningham lived at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England.¹

     Louise Cunningham was the daughter of Alison Cunningham.² She married Lt.-Col. William Gavin Hamilton, son of Thomas Hamilton and Helen Nutt, on 23 February 1908.¹ She died on 14 October 1914.¹
     From 23 February 1908, her married name became Hamilton.

     John William Stirling Hamilton was born on 26 September 1919.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Gavin Hamilton and Helen Mcphee.² He married Kathleen Dorothea Thomson, daughter of John Alexander Thomson, on 10 June 1945.¹ He died in 1959.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     John Alexander Thomson was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ He lived at Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.¹
