     Sir William Henry Marriott Smith-Marriott, 5th Bt. was born on 7 August 1835.¹ He was the son of Rev. Sir William Marriott Smith-Marriott, 4th Bt. and Julia Elizabeth Hodges.² He married Elizabeth Dorothy Cavendish, daughter of Hon. Richard Cavendish and Elizabeth Maria Margaret Hart, on 12 December 1868.² He died on 30 November 1924 at age 89.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Smith, of Sydling St. Nicholas, co. Dorset [G.B., 1774] on 4 October 1864.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Dorset in 1875.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.¹ He lived at The Down House, Blandford St. Mary, Dorset, England^G.¹

     Sir James Ramsay, 4th Bt. was the son of Sir John Ramsay, 3rd Bt. and Lilias Graham.¹ He married Elizabeth Rait, daughter of Dr. George Rait and Catherine Douglas.¹ He died on 23 March 1782.²

     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Smith, of Sydling St. Nicholas, co. Dorset [G.B., 1774] on 24 May 1941.¹

     Dorothea Anna Smith-Marriott was the daughter of Sir William Henry Marriott Smith-Marriott, 5th Bt. and Elizabeth Dorothy Cavendish.² She died on 26 March 1949, unmarried.¹
