     Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell was born on 12 August 1876.¹ He was the son of Charles Russell, Baron Russell of Killowen and Ellen Mulholland.² He married, firstly, Dorothy Leeming, daughter of John George Leeming, on 15 July 1902.¹ He married, secondly, Mavis Winifred Hazell, daughter of Frederick Hazell, on 31 October 1922.² He and Mavis Winifred Hazell were divorced in 1936.² He died on 9 May 1960 at age 83.²
     He was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Boer War in 1900.¹ He fought in the First World War, here he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1916 in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Italy.¹

     Dorothy Leeming was the daughter of John George Leeming.² She married Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell, son of Charles Russell, Baron Russell of Killowen and Ellen Mulholland, on 15 July 1902.¹ She died on 24 February 1921.¹
     From 15 July 1902, her married name became Russell.

     Prudence Russell was born on 2 May 1904.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell and Dorothy Leeming.² She married, firstly, Michael Chetwynd Ellison, son of Charles Chetwynd Ellison, on 16 July 1929.¹ She and Michael Chetwynd Ellison were divorced in 1943.¹ She married, secondly, James Gordon Findlay, son of William Findlay, on 6 February 1951.¹
     From 16 July 1929, her married name became Ellison. From 6 February 1951, her married name became Findlay.¹

     Charles Chetwynd Ellison lived at Ashfield, Malton, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Michael Chetwynd Ellison is the son of Charles Chetwynd Ellison.² He married Prudence Russell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell and Dorothy Leeming, on 16 July 1929.¹ He and Prudence Russell were divorced in 1943.¹

     Ursula Russell was born on 28 May 1905.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell and Dorothy Leeming.² She married Major Stanford Burn, son of Harry Hunter Bunn, on 1 May 1929.¹ She died in May 1942 at India.¹
     From 1 May 1929, her married name became Bunn. In 1933 her name was legally changed to Burn.

     Major Stanford Burn was the son of Harry Hunter Bunn.² He married Ursula Russell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell and Dorothy Leeming, on 1 May 1929.¹ He died in December 1941 at Hong Kong, killed in action.²
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Scots.¹ He was given the name of Stanford Bunn at birth.² In 1933 his name was legally changed to Stanford Burn by Deed Poll.²

     Joan Russell was born on 5 April 1908.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Bertrand Joseph Russell and Dorothy Leeming.² She married Charles Gordon Brand, son of Sir Harry Francis Brand, on 27 July 1933.¹
     From 27 July 1933, her married name became Brand.
