     Mildred Adelaide Palin was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Charles Thomas Palin.2 She married Field Marshal Sir William Robert Robertson, 1st Bt., son of Thomas Charles Robertson and Ann Dexter Beet, on 8 September 1894.1 She died on 18 May 1942.1
     From 8 September 1894, her married name became Robertson.

General Brian Hubert Robertson, 1st Baron Robertson of Oakridge1

     General Brian Hubert Robertson, 1st Baron Robertson of Oakridge was born on 22 July 1896.1 He is the son of Field Marshal Sir William Robert Robertson, 1st Bt. and Mildred Adelaide Palin.2 He married Edith Christina Macindoe, daughter of James Black Macindoe, on 4 August 1926.1 He died on 29 April 1974 at age 77.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Robertson, of Oakridge, co. Gloucester [U.K., 1919] on 12 February 1933.1 He retired from the military on 1 January 1934, with the rank of Major.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1942.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1943.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1944.1 He was Chief Admin Officer to Earl Alexander of Tunis between 1944 and 1945.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1945.1 He was Commander-in-Chief and British member of the Allied Control Council between 1945 and 1949.1 He gained the rank of General in 1946.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1947.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1949.1 He held the office of High Commissioner to Germany between 1949 and 1950.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George VI between 1949 and 1952.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Middle East Land Forces between 1950 and 1953.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1952.1 He was chairman of the British Transport Commisison between 1953 and 1961.1 He was director of Dunlop between 1961 and 1969.1 He was created 1st Baron Robertson of Oakridge, of Oakridge, co. Gloucester [U.K.] on 29 June 1961.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire in 1965.1
