     Colonel Edward Nicol William Holbrook gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Marine Light Infantry.¹

     Maud Denison Gooch Holbrook was the daughter of Colonel Edward Nicol William Holbrook.² She married Maj.-Gen. William John Napier, son of Hon. William Napier and Louisa May Lloyd, on 4 September 1889.¹ She died on 10 November 1941.¹
     From 4 September 1889, her married name became Napier.

     Brigadier Arthur Francis Scott Napier was born on 20 September 1890.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. William John Napier and Maud Denison Gooch Holbrook.² He married Phyllis Grace Fleming, daughter of Edward Fleming, on 15 November 1915.¹ He died in 1971.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Artillery.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in 1933.¹ He was Chief Instructor between 1936 and 1938 at Military College of Science, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Colonel in 1937.¹ He was member of the Ordnance Committee between 1938 and 1939.¹ He was Military Adviser, Ministry of Supply between 1940 and 1946.¹ He held the office of Member of the Dorset County Council between 1949 and 1955.¹

     Phyllis Grace Fleming was the daughter of Edward Fleming.² She married Brigadier Arthur Francis Scott Napier, son of Maj.-Gen. William John Napier and Maud Denison Gooch Holbrook, on 15 November 1915.¹ She died in 1978.¹
     From 15 November 1915, her married name became Napier.

     Charles John Scott Napier was born on 12 October 1917.¹ He was the son of Brigadier Arthur Francis Scott Napier and Phyllis Grace Fleming.² He died on 24 April 1948 at age 30, unmarried.¹

     Margaret Esmé Scott Napier was born on 30 December 1920. She was the daughter of Brigadier Arthur Francis Scott Napier and Phyllis Grace Fleming.² She married, firstly, Captain Ephraim Stewart Cook Spence, son of A. T. G. Spence, on 18 May 1942.¹ She and Captain Ephraim Stewart Cook Spence were divorced in 1946.¹ She married, secondly, Major Alexander Napier, son of Archibald Scott Napier and Katherine Edith Liveing, on 21 September 1946.¹ She married, thirdly, John Whittingdale, son of John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale, on 30 December 1957.¹ She died on 7 April 2020 at age 99.³
     Margaret Esmé Scott Napier also went by the nick-name of Spence.¹ From 18 May 1942, her married name became Spence.¹ From 30 December 1957, her married name became Whittingdale. She lived in 2003 at Runnymede, 69 Newland, Sherborne, Dorset, England.¹

     Captain Ephraim Stewart Cook Spence is the son of A. T. G. Spence.¹ He married Margaret Esmé Scott Napier, daughter of Brigadier Arthur Francis Scott Napier and Phyllis Grace Fleming, on 18 May 1942.¹ He and Margaret Esmé Scott Napier were divorced in 1946.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Argyll & Sutherland Highanders.¹

     John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale was born on 16 October 1959.¹ He is the son of John Whittingdale and Margaret Esmé Scott Napier.² He married Ancilla Campbell Murfitt in 1990.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He graduated from University College London, London, England, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Econ.)¹ He was Political Secretary to the Prime Minister between 1988 and 1990.¹ He was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1990.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for South Colchester and Maldon between 1992 and 1997.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Maldon and Chelmsford East in 1997.¹

     Ancilla Campbell Murfitt married John Flasby Lawrance Whittingdale, son of John Whittingdale and Margaret Esmé Scott Napier, in 1990.¹
     From 1990, her married name became Whittingdale.
