     He gained the rank of Captain in the 79th Highlanders.2 He was Groom-in-Waiting to HM Queen Victoria between 1881 and 1916.2 He held the office of Deputy Ranger of Windsor Park.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)2

     Walter Henry Edward Campbell was born on 24 April 1897.1 He was the son of Sir Walter Douglas Somerset Campbell and Marie Louise Guild.1 He married Irene Keeling, daughter of Captain E. J. Keeling, in September 1934.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He held the office of Page of Honour to HM King Edward VII between 1908 and 1912.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1918 in the Royal Air Force.1 He was awarded the Air Force Cross (A.F.C.) in 1918.1
