Pamela Mary Birkin was the daughter of Sir Henry Ralph Stanley Birkin, 3rd Bt. and Audrey Clara Lilian Latham.1 She married, firstly, Major Samuel Luckyn Buxton, son of Commander Bernard Buxton and Lady Hermione Grimston, on 6 August 1941.1 She married, secondly, Major Aubrey Leland Oakes Buxton, Baron Buxton of Alsa, son of Leland William Wilberforce Buxton and Ada Mary Oakes, on 14 November 1946.1 She died in 1983.1
From 6 August 1941, her married name became Buxton. After her marriage, Pamela Mary Birkin was styled as Baroness Buxton of Alsa on 11 May 1978.

Sara Margaret Birkin was the daughter of Sir Henry Ralph Stanley Birkin, 3rd Bt. and Audrey Clara Lilian Latham.1 She married, firstly, Colonel James Robert Hanbury, son of Major Evan Robert Hanbury and Sophia Olave Jacobson, on 1 June 1950.1 She and Colonel James Robert Hanbury were divorced in 1961.1 She married, secondly, Major George Anthony Murray Smith, son of Arthur George Murray Smith and Margaret Louise Ainsworth, on 17 November 1961.2 She died in 1976.2
Sara Margaret Birkin also went by the nick-name of Sally.1 From 1 June 1950, her married name became Hanbury. From 17 November 1961, her married name became Smith.

Major Aubrey Leland Oakes Buxton, Baron Buxton of Alsa was born on 15 July 1918.2 He was the son of Leland William Wilberforce Buxton and Ada Mary Oakes.2 He married, firstly, Pamela Mary Birkin, daughter of Sir Henry Ralph Stanley Birkin, 3rd Bt. and Audrey Clara Lilian Latham, on 14 November 1946.1 He married, secondly, Kathleen (?) on 16 July 1988.2 He died on 1 September 2009 at age 91.3

Leland William Wilberforce Buxton was born on 3 July 1884.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton, 3rd Bt. and Lady Victoria Noel.2 He married Ada Mary Oakes, daughter of Reverend Thomas Henry Royal Oakes, on 9 April 1912.1 He died on 12 March 1967 at age 82.1
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1905 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was in the Egyptian Civil Service between 1907 and 1909.1 He was Private Secretary to the Governor of British Guiana in 1909.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1911 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the First World War.1 In 1914 barrister Inner Temple.1 He gained the rank of Staff Captain in the Hejaz Operations.1 He was awarded the Order of the Star of Ethopia.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex.1
