     Anna Maria Knowles was born circa 1826.¹ She was the daughter of John Knowles.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Beville Granville Layard, son of Reverend Brownlow Villiers Layard and Louisa Port, on 21 October 1847.¹ She died on 2 July 1887.¹
     From 21 October 1847, her married name became Layard.¹
