     Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk was born in 1759.¹ He was the son of Andrew Marjoribanks of that Ilk and 4th of Balbardie and Jean Boyes.² He married Katherine Laurie, daughter of Gilbert Laurie of Polmont and Katherine Erskine, on 2 June 1790.¹
     He was Convener for Linlithgowshire for over thirty years.¹ He was proprietor and superior of the barony of Bathgate.¹

     Gilbert Laurie of Polmont married Katherine Erskine, daughter of Hon. Thomas Erskine.¹
     He held the office of Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh.¹

     Katherine Laurie is the daughter of Gilbert Laurie of Polmont and Katherine Erskine.^2,1 She married Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk, son of Andrew Marjoribanks of that Ilk and 4th of Balbardie and Jean Boyes, on 2 June 1790.¹
     From 2 June 1790, her married name became Marjoribanks.

     Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk was born on 31 October 1792.¹ He was the son of Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk and Katherine Laurie.² He died in 1864, without issue.¹

     Thomas Marjoribanks was born on 6 December 1809.¹ He was the son of Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk and Katherine Laurie.^2,1 He married Mary Cook, daughter of Reverend George Cook, on 5 March 1835.¹ He died on 6 January 1868 at age 58.¹
     He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.¹ He was Minister between 1834 and 1849 at Lochmaben, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹ He was Minister between 1849 and 1868 at Stenton, East Lothian, Scotland.¹

     Reverend George Cook was Professor of Moral Philosophy at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland.¹ He held the office of Dean of the Order of the Thistle.¹ He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹

     Mary Cook was born on 21 May 1809.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend George Cook.² She married Thomas Marjoribanks, son of Alexander Marjoribanks of that Ilk and Katherine Laurie, on 5 March 1835.¹ She died on 22 July 1887 at age 78.¹
     From 5 March 1835, her married name became Marjoribanks.

     Alexander Marjoribanks was born on 28 July 1840.¹ He was the son of Thomas Marjoribanks and Mary Cook.² He married, firstly, Eliza Hunter Nicol, daughter of Reverend James Nicol, on 4 July 1867.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Hamilton Dalrymple Shand, daughter of John Shand, on 11 February 1896.¹ He died on 21 November 1923 at age 83, without issue.¹

     Reverend James Nicol was Minister between 1825 and 1855 at Leslie, Fife, Scotland.¹

     Eliza Hunter Nicol was the daughter of Reverend James Nicol.² She married Alexander Marjoribanks, son of Thomas Marjoribanks and Mary Cook, on 4 July 1867.¹ She died on 28 September 1893.¹
     From 4 July 1867, her married name became Marjoribanks.
