     Ranald 'Bane' Macdonald, 5th of Clanranald and Moidart was the son of Allan Macdonald, 4th of Clanranald and Moidart and Florence Macdonald.2 He married Catherine Mackintosh, daughter of Lachlan Mackintosh of Gellovie.1 He died in 1509 at Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, executed.1
     He was tried in the presence of the King.1
