     He gained the rank of officer in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.² He fought in the Second World War.²

     Cicely Beresford FitzHerbert was born in 1900.¹ She was the daughter of Anthony Francis FitzHerbert and Catherine Anne Bull.² She married Henry William Petre, son of Francis William Petre and Margaret Cargill, on 11 August 1931.¹ She died in June 1990.¹
     From 11 August 1931, her married name became Petre.

     Anthony Francis FitzHerbert was born on 29 March 1863.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Richard Henry FitzHerbert and Susan Castle.² He married Catherine Anne Bull, daughter of Charles Bull, in 1893.¹ He died on 17 March 1925 at age 61.¹
     He lived at Nettleworth, Palmerston North, New Zealand^G.

     Catherine Anne Bull was the daughter of Charles Bull. She married Anthony Francis FitzHerbert, son of Lt.-Col. Richard Henry FitzHerbert and Susan Castle, in 1893.¹ She died in 1954.¹
     Her married name became Fitzherbert.

     Charles Bull lived at Feilding, New Zealand^G.

     Lt.-Col. Richard Henry FitzHerbert was born on 29 October 1809.¹ He was the son of Sir Henry FitzHerbert, 3rd Bt. and Agnes Beresford.² He married, firstly, Ellen Margaret Hepburn, daughter of James Hepburn, on 8 October 1841.¹ He married, secondly, Susan Castle, daughter of Michael Hinton Castle and Frances Boddam, on 14 September 1848.³ He died on 2 September 1885 at age 75.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the British-Italian Legion.¹ He lived at Somersal Herbert, Derbyshire, England^G.¹

     Susan Castle was born on 30 October 1824.² She was the daughter of Michael Hinton Castle and Frances Boddam.^2,3 She married Lt.-Col. Richard Henry FitzHerbert, son of Sir Henry FitzHerbert, 3rd Bt. and Agnes Beresford, on 14 September 1848.² She died on 2 May 1894 at age 69.¹
     Her married name became Fitzherbert.
