Joan Peat was the daughter of Edward Peat.2 She married Sir James Fenton Hort, 8th Bt., son of Sir Fenton George Hort, 7th Bt. and Lucy Rachel Gwendolene Alcock, on 4 January 1951.1 She died on 14 October 2003.3
From 4 January 1951, her married name became Hort.
