Sir David Hamilton was born circa 1663.1 He was the son of James Hamilton, 1st of Dalzell and Isobel Hamilton.1 He died on 29 August 1721.1
He was educated at Leyden University, Leyden, The NetherlandsG.1 He graduated from Rheims University, Rheims, Champagne, FranceG, in 1686 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He was Physician to King William III and Queen Anne.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1 He was appointed Knight in 1708.1 He was ruined in the South Seas Bubble.1
