     Edgar Montagu was born in 1796.¹ He was the son of Gerard Montagu and Mary Anne Doughty.^2,1 He married Marianne Henrietta Mackenzie, daughter of Major George Mackenzie, on 8 April 1847.¹ He died on 21 May 1851.¹
     He was a practising barrister.¹

     Marianne Henrietta Mackenzie was the daughter of Major George Mackenzie.² She married Edgar Montagu, son of Gerard Montagu and Mary Anne Doughty, on 8 April 1847.¹ She died in 1873.¹
     From 8 April 1847, her married name became Montagu.

     Ernest Edgar Montagu was born on 17 August 1849.¹ He was the son of Edgar Montagu and Marianne Henrietta Mackenzie.² He died on 11 August 1875 at age 25, unmarried.¹

     Cecil Edgar Montagu was born on 2 July 1851.¹ He was the son of Edgar Montagu and Marianne Henrietta Mackenzie.² He married Alice Ethel Critchley, daughter of John Asheton Critchley, on 11 September 1883.¹ He died on 4 August 1923 at age 72.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 21st Hussars.¹

     Alice Ethel Critchley was the daughter of John Asheton Critchley.² She married Cecil Edgar Montagu, son of Edgar Montagu and Marianne Henrietta Mackenzie, on 11 September 1883.¹ She died on 1 December 1919.¹
     From 11 September 1883, her married name became Montagu.

     Major James Gerard Edgar Drogo Montagu was born on 5 January 1893.¹ He was the son of Cecil Edgar Montagu and Alice Ethel Critchley.² He married, firstly, Anne Gladys Ross-Skinner, daughter of Sir Harry Ross-Skinner, on 30 July 1919.¹ He and Anne Gladys Ross-Skinner were divorced in 1928.¹ He married, secondly, Mary Rose Parry-Grainger, daughter of Baron Robert Parry-Grainger, on 19 August 1948.¹ He died on 26 April 1978 at age 85.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Reserve of Officers, Royal Artillery.¹

     Anne Gladys Ross-Skinner is the daughter of Sir Harry Ross-Skinner.² She married Major James Gerard Edgar Drogo Montagu, son of Cecil Edgar Montagu and Alice Ethel Critchley, on 30 July 1919.¹ She and Major James Gerard Edgar Drogo Montagu were divorced in 1928.¹
