     Mary Lamotte was the daughter of John Legier Lamotte.1 She married Charles Abbott, 1st Baron Tenterden, son of John Abbott and Alice Bunce, on 13 July 1795.1 She died on 20 December 1832.1
     From 13 July 1795, her married name became Abbott.1 After her marriage, Mary Lamotte was styled as Baroness Tenterden on 30 April 1827.

     From 2 August 1859, her married name became Abbott.1 After her marriage, Penelope Mary Gertrude Smyth was styled as Baroness Tenterden on 10 April 1870.

     John Henry Abbott, 2nd Baron Tenterden was born on 6 August 1796.1 He was the son of Charles Abbott, 1st Baron Tenterden and Mary Lamotte.1 He died on 10 April 1870 at age 73, unmarried.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Tenterden, of Hendon in the county of Middlesex [U.K., 1827] on 4 November 1832.1
