Brig.-Gen. Sir Bertram Percy Portal was born on 10 January 1866.2 He was the son of Sir Wyndham Spencer Portal, 1st Bt. and Mary Jane Beach.2 He married Hon. Margaret Louisa Littleton, daughter of Edward George Percy Littleton, 3rd Baron Hatherton and Charlotte Louisa Rowley, on 12 April 1899.2 He died on 7 February 1949 at age 83.2
