     He gained the rank of Major in the 4th (King's Own) Regiment of Foot.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1804 in the Royal Berkshire regiment.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Buckinghamshire.¹

     Frances Anne Chaplin was born in 1783.¹ She was the daughter of Acton Chaplin and Anne Sherriff.¹

     Anne Chaplin was born on 2 April 1786 at Huntingfield, Suffolk, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of Acton Chaplin and Anne Sherriff.¹ She married Thomas Tindal, son of Robert Tindal and Sarah Pocock, on 25 January 1809 at St. Mary, Aylesford, Buckinghamshire, England.^1,2 She died on 23 May 1812 at age 26.¹
     From 25 January 1809, her married name became Tindal.¹
