     Lucy Constance Elphinstone was born on 13 August 1897.¹ She was the daughter of Graham Warburton Elphinstone and Susan Sophy Harley.²

     Douglas Bonar Elphinstone was born on 9 January 1871.¹ He was the son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey.² He died on 28 December 1892 at age 21, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Reverend Maurice Curteis Elphinstone was born on 27 January 1874.¹ He was the son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey.² He married Christiana Georgiana Almond, daughter of Dr. Hely Hutchinson Almond and Eleanor Frances Tristram, on 30 July 1908.¹ He died on 14 May 1969 at age 95.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1895 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1899 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Canon Emeritus of Wakefield Cathedral.¹

     Dr. Hely Hutchinson Almond was born on 12 August 1832 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.² He was the son of George Almond and Christiana Georgina Smith.² He married Eleanor Frances Tristram, daughter of Rev. Canon Henry Baker Tristram and Eleanor Mary Bowlby, in 1876.² He died on 7 March 1903 at age 70.²
     He was the Headmaster at Loretto School, Muselborough, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.² He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.²

     Christiana Georgiana Almond was the daughter of Dr. Hely Hutchinson Almond and Eleanor Frances Tristram.² She married Reverend Maurice Curteis Elphinstone, son of Sir Howard Warburton Elphinstone, 3rd Bt. and Constance Mary Alexander Hankey, on 30 July 1908.¹ She died on 5 January 1975.¹
     From 30 July 1908, her married name became Elphinstone.

     Sir Maurice Douglas Warburton Elphinstone, 5th Bt. was born on 13 April 1909.¹ He was the son of Reverend Maurice Curteis Elphinstone and Christiana Georgiana Almond.² He married Helen Barbara Main, daughter of George Ramsay Main, on 30 June 1943.¹ He died on 5 December 1995 at age 86.¹
     Sir Maurice Douglas Warburton Elphinstone, 5th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Douglas.¹ He was educated at Loretto School, Muselborough, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹ He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1931 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the London Scottish Regiment.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1946.¹ He graduated from Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1949 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Sierra Leone Regiment.¹ He was member of the London Stock Exchange between 1957 and 1974.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Elphinstone, of Sowerby, Cumberland [U.K., 1816] on 18 May 1975.¹
