Colonel Percy Augustus Elphinstone was born on 15 September 1827 at Riga, Latvia.2 He was the son of Captain Alexander Francis Elphinstone and Amelia Anne Lobach.3 He married Margaret Agnes Bogle, daughter of Archibald Bogle and Janet Bogle.2 He died in 1889 at Kensington, London, England.2

Lt.-Col. Arthur Percy Archibald Elphinstone was born on 22 July 1863.1 He was the son of Colonel Percy Augustus Elphinstone and Margaret Agnes Bogle.2,3 He married Augustine Pauline Ludovine Cheappe, daughter of Antoine Cheappe, on 31 October 1891.1 He died on 1 July 1916 at age 52, killed in action.1
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Army.1 He was Commanding Officer of the 22nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers.1 He styled himself as Baronet Elphinstone in February 1907, which had been dormant since 1645, on his uncle's death.1 He fought in the First World War.1

Anne Charlotte Maria Elphinstone was the daughter of Admiral John Elphinstone and Amelia Warburton.2 She married Admiral Sir Francis John Hartwell, 1st Bt., son of Captain Brodrick Hartwell, on 12 February 1781.2 She died on 6 June 1809.1

Admiral Sir Francis John Hartwell, 1st Bt. was born on 15 February 1757.2 He was the son of Captain Brodrick Hartwell.2 He married, firstly, Anne Charlotte Maria Elphinstone, daughter of Admiral John Elphinstone and Amelia Warburton, on 12 February 1781.2 He married, secondly, Louisa Aldridge, daughter of John Aldridge, on 27 January 1812.2 He died on 28 June 1831 at age 74.2
He gained the rank of Colonel in the Deptford and Woolwich Volunteers.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1802.2 He was created 1st Baronet Hartwell, of Dale Hall, Essex [U.K.] on 26 October 1805.1 He was Director of Greenwich Hospital.2
