Major William Robert Edward Heneage Finch was born on 11 July 1868.1 He was the son of Frederick Hugh Finch and Lucinda Greene.2 He married Cecil Harriet Beatrice Bermingham Otway-Ruthven, daughter of William Clifford Otway-Ruthven and Frances Margaret Otway, on 1 October 1898.1
He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd Battalion, Manchester Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He lived at Tullamore Park, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1 He lived at Cloghonan, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Tipperary.1
