     Captain Lionel Charles Stopford Sackville was born on 30 April 1891.¹ He was the son of Colonel Lionel Richard Stopford Sackville and Constance Evelyn Gosling.¹ He died on 31 December 1920 at age 29.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the 4th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec Palmes.¹

     Colonel Nigel Victor Stopford Sackville was born on 27 January 1901.¹ He was the son of Colonel Lionel Richard Stopford Sackville and Constance Evelyn Gosling.¹ He married, firstly, Beatrix Helen Constance Pakenham, daughter of Colonel Hercules Arthur Pakenham and Lillian Blanche Georgiana Ashley, on 17 July 1929.¹ He and Beatrix Helen Constance Pakenham were divorced in 1943.¹ He married, secondly, Lilah Mary Hare, daughter of Captain Percy Richard Hare and Matilda Gertrude Tiarks, on 14 November 1946.¹ He died on 1 December 1972 at age 71 at Thrapston, Northamptonshire, England.²

     Beatrix Helen Constance Pakenham was born on 3 January 1910.² She was the daughter of Colonel Hercules Arthur Pakenham and Lillian Blanche Georgiana Ashley.^1,2 She married Colonel Nigel Victor Stopford Sackville, son of Colonel Lionel Richard Stopford Sackville and Constance Evelyn Gosling, on 17 July 1929.¹ She and Colonel Nigel Victor Stopford Sackville were divorced in 1943.¹ She died in 1990.¹
     From 17 July 1929, her married name became Stopford Sackville.¹

     Elizabeth Chenevix Trench was born on 13 June 1909.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Lawrence Chenevix Trench and Winifred Ross Tootal.¹ She married Brigadier Charles Deane Steel, son of Dr. Gerard Steel, on 9 April 1932.¹ She died on 10 June 1973 at age 63.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Hon. Sir Hercules Robert Pakenham was born on 29 September 1781.² He was the son of Edward Michael Pakenham, 2nd Baron Longford and Catherine Rowley.² He married Hon. Emily Stapleton, daughter of Thomas Stapleton, 12th Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Eliot, on 25 December 1817.² He died on 7 March 1850 at age 68.²
     He fought in the Peninsular Wars.³ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He held the office of Governor of Portsmouth.³

     Hon. Emily Stapleton was born circa 1796. She was the daughter of Thomas Stapleton, 12th Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Eliot.¹ She married Lt.-Gen. Hon. Sir Hercules Robert Pakenham, son of Edward Michael Pakenham, 2nd Baron Longford and Catherine Rowley, on 25 December 1817.¹ She died on 26 January 1875.¹
     Her married name became Pakenham.
